One of ACCESS of WNY, Inc.’s main objective is to empower and educate its students, resulting in happier, well-rounded members of society. Our successful afterschool drop-in center and summer youth programs have provided youth with enriching programing such as, STEM programing, Tech Savvy Girls, Girl Scouts, one to one tutoring, free use of computers and printing, free after school snacks, career counseling and writing workshops, Girls Night Out, free movie nights, participant in Lights Out Afterschool, feed the homeless experiences, and many other programs since ACCESS WNY inception. Youth will always be the heart of our programs and they create the drive for our organization to make the world around them a safe, happy, loving and supportive one. We have had over 160 students utilize our afterschool drop-in center and summer youth programing in 2014.

A large portion of ACCESS of WNY, Inc.’s programming is focused on youth services. Current staples of the organization are; after school, annual summer youth, and youth cultural arts programs. Without these programs, the community’s at risk youths are at increased jeopardy of engaging in unhealthy, unsafe activities. The youth of today are faced with so many social aspects of life that can either build their character or crush their hopes and aspirations. Many of the community’s youth are challenged with various identity crises that have further challenged successful futures.

We have recognized these problems and are trying to find a balance for them in order to grow with the confidence they need to excel. ACCESS of WNY, Inc.’s youth programs aim at celebrating their youths’ diversity and guide them in achieving a level of pride they may never attain elsewhere. The community’s youth are also provided with volunteer opportunities within the community. They have the opportunity to be involved in many projects with the support of ACCESS of WNY, Inc., which otherwise would not have been possible. These opportunities also create relationships and are very helpful in achieving a sense of accomplishment.
